The team
Aston Martin’s modern F1 project is the product of Lawrence Stroll’s investment and ambition: a team rebuilt around a state-of-the-art Silverstone campus, a growing technical organisation, and the recruitment of some of the sport’s most sought-after engineering names. The British marque returned to the grid as a works identity in 2021 after racing as Jordan, Force India and Racing Point.
2026 season
The team’s season has been solid rather than spectacular on track — its double early exit at Monza a low point — but its dominant storyline is a contract: Fernando Alonso, the grid’s most experienced driver, is publicly weighing whether to continue into the 2027 regulations, framing the decision as being about the rules rather than his age, while confirming an alternative racing programme is lined up if he stops. The team has warned against “arrogant” expectations at new venues while it develops toward the regulation reset it has been building for.
