The team
Red Bull Racing transformed from energy-drink marketing vehicle to Formula 1 superpower, winning championships with Sebastian Vettel’s era of dominance from 2010 and Max Verstappen’s from 2021. Based in Milton Keynes, England, the team is now led by team principal Laurent Mekies, whose steady restructuring — including the recruitment of senior engineering talent from Aston Martin — has followed one of the most turbulent periods in the team’s history.
2026 season
The story of Red Bull’s season is the gap between its chassis and its engine: Verstappen has repeatedly criticised the car’s straight-line performance against Mercedes — memorably comparing himself to a turtle at Monza — while confirming he held serious talks with rival teams before recommitting to the project. The second seat has been a season-long subplot, with Isack Hadjar’s injury handing Liam Lawson an extended audition, and the junior programme made headlines by signing Robin Raikkonen, the 11-year-old son of the 2007 world champion.
